Possible head gasket problem?

1998 Fiat Punto 60 S
Car: Fiat Punto
Year: 1998
Variant: 60 S
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I've been having problems with my car for a while now, as the cooling fan doesn't always work & so the engine gets very hot.

It got to the stage where the engine coolant was leaking into the footwells, so I had it looked at and the garage I used replaced the heater matrix. (They didn't do anything with the cooling fan as it worked when they tested it)

All seemed fine until this week, when I noticed the oil was a bit watery and the car is a bit jumpy when accelerating in low gears.

A mate of mine seems to think the head gasket is about to go, but any other opinions would be very welcome.

Hi what do you mean oil looks a bit watery, thin ,or ,its defiantly got water in your oil, what is happining to your water expantion bottle? take of your oil filler cap with engine running, are you getting a lot of fumes,if your head gasket has gone, you will get water in your oil,(it emulsifies, and you can get mayonnaise)car runs badly, pressure in your water system, what does your air fillter look like,if your head has gone, and you get it fixed, dont forget to give it a good service,(a must)good luck
