you need to clean the idle speed control valve this will help the idling problem you have

My car starts from cold fine but after a couple of minutes of driving becomes lumpy and sluggish and the engine dies. It does start straight away but remains sluggish with no acceleration for a few minutes and once warm runs okay. However it does emit a lot of soot and seems to use a lot of petrol. Is this likely to be the same thing?
