my mothers fiat punto makes a suealing noise when she engages the clutch and is paranoid it will break down with my kids (her grand kids) in it on the school run tomorrow is it safe to drive and any quick diagnoses' appreciated

Is it only when she engages the clutch? are you sure its not a sqeaky fan belt?
