2008 Fiat Punto head lights not switching off

My headlights come on when I start the engine and stay on I cannot turn them off until I turn off the ignition. I have checked the switch fuses and looked for any loose wires .

Possibly faulty switch / comms unit or water in engine bay fusebox.?

I've got a fiat punto 2004. The headlights will not switch off. switch them off at the column and take the key out, they are still on. If I run the engine all is well UNTIL I switch off again
