2007 Fiat Punto engine management light

Does it do it when you boot it?

The fit system can create a fault under high revs. It will either be a misfire code or the crank sensor is on its way out

What year is it?
What model p!ease.
I do know my way round fiats f.I.r.e engine quite well

the car is a 2007 punto 1.2 grande. it does seem to do it around 3500 revs but as i say the light never says on it just flashes

My panda 1.1 is 59 reg and flashed the light when I booted it. Within a month the crank sensor failed totally.

Pretty sure its a misfire fault

Get the codes read. Readers are pretty cheap on flebay these days you can do it yourself.

Over the years I've found these cars to throw up miss fire codes due to faulty coil packs.
BUT!
faulty coil packs can damage the ecu coil output stage,
my usual solution is a new coil pack and a reconditioned ECU,
Not as bad as it would be on most cars,parts for these are a constant eye opener to me,
so cheap!!
it's like I'm back in the 80's
Last one I did I fitted coil pack,new leads and re conned ECU and the customer was very happy with the price,
He had fitted 2 new coil packs and a CAS so far and was at his wits end.
Get it scanned first.

Yes the older punto,cinquecentos were prone to the ECU spike. So possible.
I would think with the eobd it would give some kind of error.

But worth looking at
