Starting

Battery is fine, but car won't start - nothing happens when ignition is turned. Mileage and time display flash. And the time had returned to zero when the problem arose. The yellow lock sign is illuminated briefly when turning the ignition key, but goes out almost straight away (there are no other unusual warning lights), so I don't think this is to do with the engine lock or code. What to do?!
