i have just noticed a oil patch near the head. my mate says he thinks it might be leaking from the rocker cover if so is this a big problem and if it is not that what else could it be my oil level has not gone down at all really so don't think its leaking to much

Leaking rocker cover gaskets are common on many cars. Not a big job. Try cleaning the area up and keep an eye on it for a while to see if oil re appears, that way you may be able to confirm that it is the r/c gasket

Check the breather pipe that runs from the rocker cover and splits into 2,ome goes to the inlet, approx 6mm dia and the other gose to the underside of the filter housing.
Second thought is just by a new one they're under £5
