I would bleed the clutch and the brakes as well by the sounds of it.Make sure you dont have a leak as well

Hi, you dont say what your gearchange felt like prior to the clutch change. The clutch and the brakes are two separate systems. It sounds as if you moved the settings on the gear linkage - or did not fit the gear linkage cradle back in the exact position it was in before the gearbox was taken out of the car. Have an assistant sit in the car and try to select the gears as you adjust the linkages - remember a half a turn can mean the difference between getting a smooth gear engagement and a "notchy one" . If you continue to use third gear to move off, you will shorten the life of your clutch due to clutch slippage,
Best of luck
