2006 Fiat Punto heater fan only working intermittently

The Heater Fan on the Punto only works intermittently and is a nuisance as the Car does not have A/C. Any ideas on what I could do to solve the problem and how to remove the panel to gain access to the back of the Switch etc. Many Thanks.

Could be a loose wire, or a faulty switch, or maybe the resistor pack that controls the speed of the fan...
