Intermittant Squealing

I took my car for it's regular service and the garage told me that when they stripped the engine it started smoking and that it would not pass it's next MOT. Since then it has driven well but has made a squealing noise from the engine on 2 occasions both times this only lasted about 20 seconds. What could this be?

Sounds like an auxiliary belt not got the correct tension...
