2000 Fiat 500 Problems

Clutch started squeaking yesterday whenever it was used; today it's given up the ghost completely and appears to have locked up. Any ideas what's wrong with it, or how much/long it would take to fix? Many thanks, Helen

The car made a noise like the fan hitting the radiator and stopped dead. The starter will not turn the engine. I have checked the valves and pistons and everything is working.The starter has been checked and is working.
