Engine won't start

2000 Fiat 500 seicento sporting
Car: Fiat 500
Year: 2000
Variant: seicento sporting
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
The car made a noise like the fan hitting the radiator and stopped dead. The starter will not turn the engine. I have checked the valves and pistons and everything is working. The starter has been checked and is working.

firstly how have you checked the valves and pistons with out removing the head as you have said that the starter is ok then there is nothing to stop the engine turning over other than the engine has dropped a valve are you able to turn the engine over by hand if so then there is nothing to say that the starter wouldnt be able to do this and just check around the pulleys just to see if there is anything trapped ie belt slipped across causing it to rubb against the engine
