you will need to replace the cam belt and possible the water pump and dependind on the damadge caused when it broke the head may need removing to replace bent valves this will mean a headgasket kit personaly i would remove the head anyway as they suffer from a build up of carbon deposits around the valves and cylonder head which can cause engine missfires on the plus side the engine is easy to work on so it is a fairley straight forward job

Hi Many Thanks for your reply, i had the following works carried out Replaced 16 Valves water pump cambelt including Tensioner and idel pullys at the cost of £790.02 since this my car has blue smoke from the exhaust and she is using a lot of oil, the garage has told me to run the car over the winter period, take it back in January and if the problem has not resolved they will do an oil change and put thicker oil in the car surley this will not solve the problem can you please advise me as to what to do

Many Thanks

Wonder if they replaced the valve stem oil seals or if check was done on pistons in case ones been hit hard and squashed a ring.more likely valve stem oil seals.but you could try putting some miles on it before any strip down as long as you monitor the oil usage closely.

Hi I have checked the invoice and their is no charge for the valve stem or oil seals will this damage my car further if i carry on using it,

Surly if they replaced valves they should of replaced glides, seats.
To be honest £800 is actually cheap ish for the work. there is always a chance that there could be damage that just cant be seen with the naked eye. the things i would replace would be Timing belt, tension pulleys, water pump if contact has been made then valves and every thing that works with them, seats, glides so on also would have to have head skimmed and its a bit costly but also have the head x-ray to see if head has cracked inside( i do this very often as had some fail due to unseen cracks.
I would do as they say and build up some miles if they have fitted them they will need bedding in so try not sitting at same rev range for to long just until bedding is done normally about 4 to 5 hundred miles would do it. as to the oil it may work but personally i wouldn't put thicker oil in it to what the manufacturers say, if the job is done properly it wouldn't need thicker oil.

Hi
I checked the oil in my cart this morning and there is a Coffee colour foam where you put the oil in what does this mean and should i take it back,

Take car back . Sounds like emulsified oil caused either by head / gasket leaking .
