1995 Citroen ZX front demister/blower & rear demister working intermitantly

The front fan/demister has been working fine all summer and now I need it for the colder mornings, it doesn't always work. If I leave it switched on it works until I switch the engine on. The rear demister worked today, but has not worked for a couple of weeks. Are they linked and what's causing it please?
