2060 Citroen DS3 won't go into 2nd gear but sometimes it does and today it's back to normal what's this

Last night I was driving car but I selected gear 2 bought up clutch but there was no gear happened quite a few times but sometimes it was ok .this morning started up car and it's gone back to normal the gearbox feels stiffer were as last night it was like there was alot of play in the gear selector and felt sticky but today it's like a brand new car
