2016 Citroen DS3 fan running

On monday eve it smelt strongly of petrol but soon went ,i noticed once going into 3rd a slight shudder.tues Thurs was fine.
Thursday drove to work fine after work Engine light on
Fan running as soon as it starts.
(Been told it went into limp mode when I drove home)
Was shuddering through gear changes slightly.
Smelt from the exhaust with fumes.
Water and oil fine
Not happy only 24k miles and having to take to main dealer with warranty expired ?around 2 weeks prevous engine light came on ,I turned ignition off and restarted and it went

Don't know what engine in your car , but if 1.6-litre diesel could it be the DPF regenerating ?
