Cannot believe, exactly the same happened to me today for first time - mine is DS3 2016 model, also 1.2. Had the radio on & also noticed that the sound disappeared at same time, but when sound returned it was minimal & had to turn it up to hear each time which may help identify problem?

Yes exactly what's happening. Have to turn volume up to when comes back on. Been happening for about 10 days now. Nothing in the manual. Annoying me.

Could check with a dealership if there are any software updates pertaining to this . Another thought , possibly due to lack of use in present Covid or short journeys , battery could be low and cutting off non essential items as it does on some when entering eco mode . Simple test to check battery condition at most fast fit centres or the likes of Halfords . Usually FOC and while you wait . Or could try charging battery .

Was there a solution to this problem?

I've had the same problem, does it intermittently. Multiple times some journeys and doesn't on others. I've had the electrics check to see if it was a faulty wire but they couldn't find anything. Also, i've been working through the whole of lockdown so not an idle issue.

My cars going for MOT+Service in few days so will find out about battery then.

The solution is to make sure that the DAB is not tuned to a BBC station. They did changes at the end of September and that seems to have ruined everything.

I have a DS3 2015 model 1.6. My stereo/radio centre unit keeps going off and on lately. It is annoying, was told to contact dealership for poss software updates. But I will try the DAB not tuned into BBC station. However if I link up Spotify through Bluetooth and listen to my play list it does it too. Any other suggestions gratefully received please.

Thanks elletts, this issue been draining me mad foe weeks! System rebooting every 5 mins irrespective of whether I was listening to music via USB, bluetooth, DAB or Analogue (what I thought was analogue)
Local dealer wanted £80 to run a diagnostic, and DS uk fobbed me off with same thing, not interested.
Tried a non BBC station on DAB and the constant restarting stopped immediately. What’s frustrating is that even if you are using USB or Bluetooth, if DAB it is tuned to BBC in the background it keeps crashing.
You need to go into audio settings and turn off the DAB/Analogue switching option if you want to listen to a BBC radio station on Analogue, otherwise it auto selects the DAB station and it starts crashing again.
Next step is to overwrite all the BBC DAB slots in presets so this can’t happen again until a fix is provided.
Don’t have much hope of a fix coming soon, loads of instances of this on other forums, yet DS dealers claiming ignorance and trying to get you to stump on the £££ for diagnostics....

Hi Karina,

Did you manage to get to the bottom of this and fix the screen issue ?

Hi All,

We are having the same problem on our 2016 Grand Picasso, It sounds like it's a real problem Citroen needs to address. I contacted a local Citroen specialist (not a dealer) who had no suggestions. We are going to log when the issues occur for us, particularly whether the radio is tuned to a BBC DAB or just a DAB station generally when it happens. If it seems like a DAB or BBC DAB issue, we'll try it with just the radio tuned to FM stations and the auto switching between FM and DAB turned off. See it that makes a difference.
