2006 Citroen C4 windscreen wipers coming on all the time

the windscrren wipers in my c4 keep twitching then coming on by themselves, ive tried turning off the automatic wipers setting and its not that, what can this be?

Try disconnecting the wiper stalk from inside the car to rule this out.
