Engine fault light on then it's downhill from there..!! 2015 Citroen C4 1.6
Car won't pull away in drive accelerators to the floor but there's nothing no movement or sound, sometimes I move the steering wheel and it goes or I have to put it into neutral then back to drive sometimes it crunches and shudders when changing settings on automatic gearbox, smell fuel. Best way to describe it feels like I need to get the bite but it's not a manual (I never knew you could stall an automatic)
Problem Category
Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
Leaks & Noises
Gearbox & Clutch

The only way you will get a resolution to the problems is to get it scanned for fault codes and dependent on results , take it from there .

Yes one mechanic at Arnold clark said it's fine but now another mechanic at arnold clark says it's the gearbox and unsafe to drive and will cost me £900 to investigate further. Sorry I'm so unsure but is that not what the diagnostic machine is for??

You are correct . As for the £900 to diagnose Clarks want .............................. if it was not that stupid / serious , it would be funny . You could possibly check if there are any local , certified , independent Auto transmission specialists that would diagnose and advise you better on cost and options .
