2016 Citroen C4 electric tailgate not working

fitted 2 electric struts from a scrapyard car, seen working. plugged into my electrics in the car but it will not open or close. When the button is pressed on the tailgate or the key fob there is a 'beep' but then nothing happens. There are two plugs on each strut with 6 wires each side. All is plugged in correctly.

They the exact same and part number of the electric struts you removed ?

when I purchased the car it had been fitted with manual struts after the accident damage repair. The electric struts were from an identical car from an online scrappy. They worked on the previous car so should work on mine. I get a single 'beep'. I noticed on the old car video that it 'beeps continuously as the tailgate goes up or down? Perhaps a sensor is giving false information?

This is from the hand book , you checked the setting ?
