2005 Citroen C4 won't start

Hi my car won't start it's ticks over but once it comes to actually coming on it dies. I have had someone out to put a diagnostic machine on it and it showed a fault with earth connection so he's had a look changed the lead that runs from battery to gear box and nothing, he's going to speak to someone else tomorrow but was just wondering if anyone else had any ideas?

Dont understand your post .If it ticks over , it must have started and been running . Most cars also have an earth cable from engine / transmission to body or chassis . Needs checking as they may look o.k but may be otherwise ., common fault . Was the person who checked your car a mechanic or just a friend / DIYer ?
