2008 Citroen C4 cuts out under load

We just brought a used 2008 diesel c4 grand picasso and since we have had it we have had a couple of warning signs flash up on the dashboard, 'anti pollution faulty', and also one showing about a what we think is warning about cleansing the DPF filter which is was due to go in for today until it cut out! Today it starts fine, you then press on the accelerator and it cuts out and we have had to limp it back home, which took quite a while as it kept cutting out, hubby thinks it could be a fuel problem but not sure, anyone else have any ideas what we could do please?

The faults it is indicating are almost certainly your problem and need fixing first .
