Loss of power

2008 Citroen C4 Grand Picasso VTR+. Egs
Car: Citroen C4
Year: 2008
Variant: Grand Picasso VTR+. Egs
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Just been out shopping. Set off back home and have limited power. Cannot get more than 2200rpm in any gear. No signs of smoke behind me. No warning lights on the dash board. Starts and ticks over ok. Not as quiet as usual but not overly noisy. Seviced about a month ago at main dealers.
Any ideas of the problem?

Sounds like car has dropped into limp home mode , which will require scanning for fault codes . If guessing , possibly fuel filter but many other possible causes .As engine noisier , to be safe , check engine oil level .

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Further information.

Tried again the following day and the depollution warning light came on.

A friend was able to do a plug in and it showed the following error code.......P0402. This was traced to

Exhaust gas recirculation flow excessive detected.

Anyone know the cure?

My Citroen 2016 Citroen has been doing it and it was brand new. would cut out and go into idle mode. Make sure Citroen do a full road test of at least 160miles. Citroen gave it back to me after about 5 visits and over 12 weeks in Citroen. Top Technicians strips out ECU and cables, did 30 mile test.

Last Thursday it did it again. Try to ditch the car ASAP.
