2005 Citroen C4 car stalls and loses power when starting

Car: Citroen C4
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.4 petrol
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
We have had the car a number of years , but in the past few months the car appears to be giving the same issue, When we turn over the engine to start, on the odd occasion the engine would splutter for a few seconds then shut off or if you take off there would be little to no power transfer for about 30 seconds. we have found by switching the engine off and restarting the problem would not return. On occasion we have had a warning light come on related to Anti pollution ,, Im wondering are these issues related. when i got a mechanic to investigate he could find no faults Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Scanning for faults is the start,
no faults logged means go to live data to monitor just what the ECU computer is "seeing" it the situation.
I'd suggest you find a mechanic who can actually do their job.
not one who plugs in a scanner then says "no fault there guv".
What I'd be monitoring would be a graph of the coolant temperature sensor first.
