Top end engine noise

2006 Citroen C4 Hdi

I hope someone can help.
Took the c4 out yesterday. No problems at all. However starting it up to go home there was a lot of top end engine noise - as if there was little or no oil getting to the top end.

It sounds like the hydraulic followers, but why all at the same time? Does anyone know if there could be a problem that prevents oil getting to the top end? A pressure valve or something?

It's only done 80k. It had a full service a month or so ago.

Any help or advice would be great
Thanks
Nige.

The oil passage could have been blocked but thats unusual but possible I suppose.
If the wrong oil was used I'm sure the noise would have been sooner too.
If there was an oil pressure issue a light would be on.

Are you sure its all of them? They do tap very fast making it sound like a lot are noisy
I would think only one was faulty IMHO without hearing the engine myself
