2005 Citroen C3 banging noise

Hi when I go ove any bumps or speed bumps seem to get a large banging noise undernath the car as though something banging against the car floor , when going along the road there is no noise, I have had the exhaust checked and everything is fine, anyone got any ideas as to what is causing this thanks

Check ball joints and track rod ends.

You could also check the suspenion bushes.

Hi all,
Am wondering if this problem was ever finally resolved as my C3 has just developed the same fault and investigations by my usual garage have failed to find any cause. The clunking noise sounds like my exhaust is knocking against something (but it isn't)and is pretty much permanent.
Tony, did you ever get to the bottom of it? would like to know before further investigations are carried out.

Just an update for anyone who is interested.
This particular problem turned out to be the front drivers side anti roll-bar link. got it fixed yesterday by my local citroen dealer (Evens Halshaw), the replacement part was £29.00, the full inclusive cost of the repair was £186.00, was disappointed that such a small repair could cost so much but cheered up when I was told I had got a free car wash and vacuum ......great!
