2006 Citroen C3 rough running

Car: Citroen C3
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6 VTR
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
On starting the engine runs rough until above 2000rpm + the multi function display beeps and says "Anti pollution fault". I have fitted new set of spark plugs but problem still there. If anybody has had this problem and knows the answer, I would appreciate your input.

anti-pollution means that the catalytic converter is too sooted up. the car needs to be plugged in and have a de-pollution cycle peformed. this basically is a computer which changes the fuel mixture so the exhaust runs hotter and burns off the excess carbon. if this doesnt work, then you could be into a new cat and lambda sensor.

Hi elannor67

Thanks for your suggestion. Since I first posted I have bought a scan tool which comes up with 3 DTC's. All relate to cam/crank sensor. So I bought a new sensor. The problem is still there. When you crank it over it tries to lock up, almost as if there is not enough battery. After charging the battery it still tries to lock up but does eventually start, but won't tickover. When it gets 30000rpm it just fades and stops.
Do you think this is still Lambda / cat related?
