2002 Citroen C3 battery

the battery went flat an when i jumped started it the revs were very high, after a few seconds they came down but the car is idling like someone keeps pressing the accelerator up an down, i turned the engine off but it keeps doing it, any ideas please,

you may need to go to the dealers for a reprogramme with the battery going flat on the car but its a easy straight forward reprogramme but do enquire on this first
