2003 Citroen C3 car sometimes doesnt reverse

Variant: 1.4i SX Petrol
Gear stick goes into reverse no problem there, but occaisionally the car wont move

Needs checked out when fault is there to verify it is fully in reverse . When it does it , take back in to neutral and try again . Could be wear on gear selector mechanism / cables or even a sticking h/brake to name a few possible causes
