2003 Citroen C3 can't physically get the gear leaver to move across to select 3rd 4th or reverse

Hi I have a Manual 1.4 C3 Desire . i can select 1st and 2nd OK clutch seems normal in these gears, there was a clunk from under the gear leaver and now I cannot move the leaver across to select 3rd 4th or reverse could it be something to do with the gear linkage assembly and the leaver or is it lightly to be inside the gearbox?

More likely to be gear linkage or shift cables .
