Hill start assist not working

2012 Citroen C3 1.4 VTR+ HDI Auto
Car: Citroen C3

Variant: 1.4 VTR+ HDI Auto

Have noticed the car rolls backwards/forwards when releasing the brakes. Apparently the brakes should stay on for 2 seconds and is controlled by the ESP? Is this right?

On most cars you have the option to enable or disable this through the menu settings , may be switched off

Hi, I have read the user manual and it says the hill start assist cannot be deactivated. It says if there were issues then the ESP light would come on...and its not.
I have a OBD2 reader so will plug that in and see if any fault codes are registered.

The other thing that sometimes affects hill start on some cars is a low battery condition . But going by your other post on gearbox, would be the least of my worries .

If car had been lying about in stock for a while , prior to you buying it , may reinforce battery suggestion but other possible causes . Surprised there is no option to disable on those cars .
