Manual sequential gear change mode

2003 Citroen C3 SX, Automatic, can not engage manual sequential gear change mode, put in to D works fine with no problems at all. put in to M will just carry on in D.

You need to get it scanned for fault codes .

Thank you for the reply, I had my car scanned yesterday, there is some faults that I suspect is the problem;

Permanent fault, Remote fault 1. vehicle speed emitted by ABS no signal.
Temporary fault, Remote fault 2. Engine speed signal no signal.
I have no ABS warning lights lit, the Lexia 3 did not pick any faults up for the ABS, I am assuming it is a signal wire from the ECU to the gearbox ECU, but I have no idea where to start tracing the wire from or what wire I am looking for.
