The EDS light is on static. The dash says Antipolution fault. Garage have changed sensors involved and it was fine for 8 months but is now back on, garage says they think drive chain has stretched and needs replacing. Anybody any ideas?

What engine in car ? petrol or diesel ? What is EDS light ?

If engine management / fault light and anti pollution light are on , there should be codes stored which should be read with proper equipment and diagnosed rather than guessing .Timing chain MAY be worn but unlikely to be cause of anti pollution light .

French cars are often miss-diagnosed,
they really don't work well with any diagnostic systems other than in this case Lexia diagnostics
,Citroen own system.
And of course this system has to be used by a mechanic who knows what their doing.
All that might be of little help to you but a competent Tech using "Lexia" could acces cam/crank sync and tell "IF" the chain is stretched.
What I'm stating is it's better to pay for a good diagnostic tech to scan it rather than just guessing and buying parts in the hope of hitting the fault.
Try to find a Bosch diagnostic specialist near you.
They are usually well trained.
