when turning on ignition on comes the fan when switching off ignition fan continues to run for a while after just purchased the car (2 days ago) is this normal for this type of car as it is the first time we have purchased this brand of car

Fans normally only run when the engine is hot.
And these use a two speed fan system so even if it does need some cooling the lower speed would be the one working.
I can't be any more accurate without knowing the engine size and fuel type.
