2010 Citroen C3 fuel indicator

Recently did a 600 mile trip but the diesel indicator (both clock bar and "mileage to next fill up" symbol) are still showing that I have almost a full tank ! and 571 miles !

Suspect the tank sensor has jammed,
worth a try to giving the tank a good smack with a rubber mallet to see if it dislodges,
But if it's done it once it'll do it again,
Ultimately the level sensor will have to come out.

Or could try filling tank to see if it clears it .
