while driving, the oil lamp start to beam and the car shuts down. the problem started month after the end of the guarantee period. went to the mechanic (authorized dealers) and the sad that is the on board computer faulty and it has to be replaced.
so I'll have to pay the full price for it replacement.
question is, if is hardware problem is it their obligation to replace it (or at least to detect the problem in the guarantee period)?
is there a different solution?

They cant detect a problem whilst under g/tee that does not exist at that time .I often wish we could see ahead into the future .If the warrnty is expired by a day never mind a month , they are not liable though , dependant on dealership , they could make an abnormal warranty claim or some concession towards the repair .

Would recomend you check all relavent electrical connections, round switch etc and especialy relating to earthing as these can be cause of many problems on C3s. Do this before you spend any money.
