2004 Citroen C3 noise around belt area

noise sounding like dry bearings around belt area disappears when hot, could it be bearing dry or possible water pump noise ? only had car few days . any suggestions welcome .

Could be water pump.
Could be alternator bearing.
Could be timing belt tensioner bearing.
Need to get this problem pinpointed before it seizes and causes any more damage...

Have had same prob on 2008 C3 1.4 petrol for over twelve months, in my case not going away when hot.Have also heard this on some other C3s and wonder if it is common to 1.4 eight valve models.garage say they have heard this on some Citroens (None Citroen garage).
