Have you had the viscus coupling fan checked? I have had mine changed and my problem like yours is now fixed.

I have a fault on the heater/ a/c fan on my C5 the fan doesn't seem to have stopped completely it will give a little warm or cold air now and again but it has no power putting it on auto or adjusting the settings makes no difference.
the only difference is that my car does not like the heating turned up in any way or the low flow of air stops after a click in the vasinity of the passenger glove compartment.
