2007 Citroen C2 engine cuts out in low gear

In the past few weeks the engine cuts out as l slow down in the approach to roundabouts and tight bends. l am in second gear , and the engine just cuts out- no noises or warning , all l know is the steering is suddenly heavy. Only the battery light is on. It starts again no problem. Only does it after journey of 5 miles.
Garage can't find any fault- any idea?

Try cleaning the throttle body, or maybe even replacing it...

Thanks- the garage says this would come up with an error code. As the engine management light isn't coming on , no error is being recorded?

How was this fixed as my 2007 1.4Hdi C2 has now started doing something similar?

After accelerating from traffic lights it suddenly loses all revs and power steering and the battery light comes on. This is on short journeys of about 5 miles as well.
