Auto box judder

2017 Citroen Berlingo multispace
Car: Citroen Berlingo
Year: 2017
Variant: multispace
Categories: Gearbox & ClutchElectrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
intermittent judder when setting off ,also bangs into gear if it hs been ticking over for
a while. This does not happen when using the manual selector. Ihave been qouted approx £1700-00 for whole clutch ,flywheel assembly plus new selector module.
My question is can the gear selection module be exchanged without the gearbox being removed?

If it has been diagnosed as needing all parts , could be a waste of time and money just replacing gear selection module .

Thanks for your input, I am hoping not to have to go down that route, although it’s done 60,000 miles. I was wondering if the module could be changed without the removal of the gearbox, just to confirm it is the gearbox selector . Cheers Martin

Your best bet would be to contact a reputable , local , independent Auto Transmission specialist for advice and possibly cheaper repair .
