Hi
Could be your alternator belt slipping, you can get a beeping noise when the alternator is not charging the battery, usually accompanied by a red light on the dash (if the bulb is not blown).

Depending on year , MK2 is between the steering column and the door, in beside the fuses. MK3 in the glove box area .
