4X4 just stopped working. As I am in Cost Rica, I've waited nearly a year for the new switch---which my mechanic said was the problem. Then I found another Terracan, borrowed the switch, & still not working. Removed the drivers' seat & the...

Geoff Perfitt, Bucks

Good sturdy runabout with caverns of room and nice views of all around. Powerful engibne and goes well off road. Mine's done 71,000 and goes like a Tonka train - well.

Sturdy king of the road workhorse which has been reliable. Be aware there's a hardish ride and slight wander on odd cambers. Good off road. Climbs greasy, creamy mud hills and goes gently down steep slopes. Stuffed with lots of kit and great value for money. Beats the socks off more expensive rivals and your money is still in the bank instead of big depreciation from the well known costly brands. Sad it was discontinued. Auto is nicest. Good examples can be found if you search via internet. Mostly well screwed together. Beware costly imitations!

Have a 2005 model, second hand done 75k. The car has great potential however, I must have been unlucky. Problems to date:
Total loss of power at speed (issue with water matrix, head gasket and various water leaks.
Front ball joint damaged.
Heater thermostat/ control intermittent
Garage disconnected sensor on the accelerator pedal as power lag caused problems.
Key fob failed on alarm system twice.
Now an unusual knocking noise - suspension broken, ball joint or exhaust? But not fixed yet.
Very light on the steering and car jumps all over the place
Warranty service is good although they cannot fix problems quickly enough and after warranty expires prices are very high indeed.
Good points - pulls a horse box fully loaded with no problems (thats about it though).

Bought New in 2005 ....5 Years on and still 1st Class (No Problems)....why did Hyundai drop the Terracan ??....Excellent build ..Good economy....Very Roomy...and Great Value for Money....However Hyundai Dealer servicing Charges are Steep ....and that is the Only Negative comment I can Think of...I usually change my Vehicle every 3 Years but I intend to keep the Terracan for a while yet and even more important I still look forward to Driving It.
