van starts and runs fine, but when driving i have to have my foot right down, the revs build up gradually and when it reaches about 3000 it drives normal, have to do this in every gear...

you would have to supply more info re. type/ size of engine before any one can help you .

its a 1.9 td and is a 1999 vw transporter lwb

Check all turbo hoses / pipes for leaks or collapsing inside.
