Having suffered a total g/box failure on our Touran - it effectively disintegrated whilst driving when a pin in the diff. sheared off and went through the casing,destroying everything.Besides unsuccessfully trying to get the repair costs(replacement g/box and clutch £2500) from VW we have lodged a complaint on safety grounds with VOSA. The g/box problem is obviously well know (google any connected site) and is an intrinsic fault at manufacture or assembly, though VW deny this.Anyone who has had a similar problem and considered it a safety issue or was injured by the failure could contribute to the info. to Vosa. Our car was two months out of warranty, full service history and had done 57,000 miles.VW have ignored all our comments on safety on the quality of the product they manufacture.
