2006 Volkswagen Touran building up pressure in water bottle and heaters not working properly when this happens

car building up pressure in water bottle when this happens the heaters stop working but then they could start working again later. when the heaters are working they are very good but then when they stop working they are just pure cold. I have changed the thermostat, water pump and motorized heater flap under dash and washed out radiator and pipes but still no good.

Looks like head gasket gone , carry out a block test to confirm .

if the head gasket was gone would she not build up pressure all of the time instead of every now and again? Thought it strange that she can build up pressure and then go again and heaters going now and again.

You didn't mention it was not all the time in post . Can vary depending on how bad gasket blown and on length of usage i.e short journeys pressure might not build up the same .

I carried out the head test on the car but it didn't show up any problems the liquid solution didn't change colour. Is there anything else that would cause the build up of pressure in the water bottle?
