1996 Volkswagen Sharan hall sender fault

My vw sharan 2.8 vr6 model 1996 won't start , when ignite its just cranking.Check d injector,fuel pump, coil & plug found no problem For the past 1 mth hv spend a lot towed to several workshop but the problems unsolve.

DIAGOSIS READ HALL SENDER FAULT, CAN ANYONE ADV WHERE THE UNIT LOCATED AND ANY MEANS TO RECTIFY IT?

Expert pls adv me on possible solution to this problems

hall sender suggests crank or camshaft sensor most cars will start with the camshaft one gone but not the crank one as this sends the signal to the ecu to tell it the engine is turning over

As suggested on original post 5/11/2009 ,another name for crankshaft sensor ???
