i have an intermitant fault on my sharan sometime when i am driving the engine cuts out with the feul gauge rev counter/dash going of .after a shorttime a minute or so the car will restart and all is fine. sometime it happens once a day sometmes not for a week or so

Check the fuse box for any suspect fuses or signs of electrical arcing on any of the fuse holders. Also check the relays for the same things.
