2005 Volkswagen Sharan power not supplying to the distributor and not stating at all

When stating it, it will start and go off, after a while it refused to start again. And before when u remove the battery and place it back all the dashboard meters will go clock wise and returned back to anti clock wise, but is not responding , the fuel gauge and temperature gauge is on half even as the battery is removed. Please I need a solution.
