Oil problem

had to rush home last night wife rushed in to hospital ! oil light and alarm cam on car went into limp mode only place open services on way to hospital 15 quid for a litre put it in car was fine ! got up this morning took kids to school couldn't see a thing behind me smoke every time the accelerator was touched , left it to cool down for a while checked the dip stick nothing showing any ideas ?

sounds like turbo

I've found oil all up the exhaust and along the heat shield but nothing in the floor pan

if it is the turbo can it be disconnected and the car still used ? as we live completely rural , I found no oil in the floor pan but it is all up the exhaust and heat shield and fuel tank

you can not disconnect turbo you need to get yours checked out by a garage they will be able to check it for wear on the impeller
