2000 Volkswagen Polo want start after car left to cool down

every ime the car cools down it struggles to start. have to keep turning the key so the car turns over to heat up the engine then the car starts but really sluggish and juttery. car been servised changed plugs leads air filter oil and oil fiter

Sounds like a temperture sensor fault. The temperture semsor give the ECU a reading of the engine temperture which then tells the automatic choke to work. Your sensor is probably telling the ECU that the engine is warm when its cold so hence does not work the choke.

took car to garage for dignostic report came back without any fault!!! car recently passed mot so cant be choke passed emitions test!!!! when givin the key short jabs after a few minutes it starts but if i turn and hold the key car will not turn over!!!!
